Phil Nisbet


Philip Nisbet co-founded World Insurance Associates LLC after a successful two year effort to purchase a community bank. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Middletown, NJ-based Colonial American Bank. With Richard Eknoian, Mr. Nisbet manages finance for World Insurance Associates LLC with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. Philip has 20 years experience at global banks in securities lending, derivatives and commercial real estate “REO” capacities, including Barclays Capital, Inc., Citibank and Merrill Lynch

Rich Eknoian


Rich has spent 15 years in the insurance industry as the CFO of a top 50 broker and as a sell side merger and acquisition advisor. He is a Villanova University graduate with a BA in Accountancy and a Masters in Taxation. Mr. Eknoian has a MBA from Stern Schools of Business at New York University and is the Director at Colonial American Bank.

Greg Kroeger


Greg Kroeger joins World Insurance Associates from American Truck Insurance Exchange, which he co-founded in 2009. Mr. Kroeger has over 15 years of commercial insurance experience, including six years at HUB International, where he was First Vice President and ten years managing his own agencies. Prior to HUB, Mr. Kroeger was the co-owner of C.S. Nenner, Inc., an independent agency with $30 million in premiums, specializing in transportation and warehousing coverage for trucking businesses.

Ed Wargins

Ed Wargins


Edward Wargins joins World Insurance Associates from E&S Insurance Agency, Inc. (E&S), where he was the President and founder of the agency.  Mr. Wargins has 12 years of experience as an insurance producer and agency owner. Prior to founding E&S in 2005, Mr. Wargins was a producer at HUB International from 2002 until 2005. In 2002, HUB acquired Mr. Wargins’ employer, C. S. Nenner, Inc.

Mark Lauria


Mark Lauria began his insurance career with Liberty Mutual in 1967 as a Sales Representative. He left to head up sales in 1969 for captive agent Allstate. During this time he felt very strongly that there was a better way to service a customer. In 1979 he and his wife Laura Lauria co-founded Mark Lauria Associates Inc. In 2004 a second agency was formed in Red Bank, NJ. Today, after 32 years they have a reputation for being the agency where things get done correctly and great effort is taken to offer the best protection to the customer. Mark holds an Associate in Risk Management from The Insurance Institute of America.

Frank Costa, CIC, CRM

Principal, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Costa founded an independent insurance agency in 1989 and successfully grew the firm to merge with a Tri-State independent agency in 2001. Following years of agency management, new client development, and sales management, Frank led the Middle Market and Small Commercial Divisions at Frenkel & Company from 2008-2017. Mr. Costa and his team grew the Division to 2,600 commercial insurance clients representing over $80 million in annual premium. Frank is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and a Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and frequent speaker on various risk management topics. Along with BA in Accounting, Frank has completed extensive post graduate work in organizational behavior and management.

Jeff Kroeger

Principal, SVP, Commercial Lines

 Jeff Kroeger joined World Insurance in June 2012 to manage the Company’s hospitality book of business and he is also that unit’s primary producer. Prior to joining World Insurance, he was a senior claims adjuster at Mercury Insurance Group.  A resident of Hoboken, NJ and son of World Insurance Associates’ partner Greg Kroeger, Jeff Kroeger is a graduate of Montclair State University with a degree in criminal justice and a minor in business administration.

Mark Wood

Principal, SVP

Mark joins World Insurance Associates LLC after 6 years at NFP National Account Services. Prior to that, he had a highly successful 25-year career as a Golf Pro. Mr. Wood entered the insurance industry and used a cost savings approach to help large organizations understand the group life and disability business, as well as pharmaceutical consulting. His knowledge of large scale benefits coupled with his attention to detail have earned him a reputation as the "go-to-guy" to get things done. Mark is a graduate and an avid supporter of The University of Alabama School of Business.

Matt Morris

Principal, VP, National Accounts

Matt Morris joined World Insurance Associates from Wells Fargo Insurance Services where he worked as an Account Executive on a book of approximately $25 million in annual premiums. Mr. Morris has over 12 years of commercial insurance experience serving a wide range of middle market, upper middle market, and national size accounts. Prior to Wells Fargo, Mr. Morris acted as an Account Executive/Sales Executive at Frenkel & Company.

Cheri Colonna

Principal, Accounting Manager

Ms. Colonna is a degreed accounting professional with broad experience spanning several industries with areas of concentration in Financial Services and Insurance. Cheri was previously employed as an Accounting Manager for VMS Fund Administration. Prior to VMS Fund Administration, Ms Colonna worked as a Substitute Teacher for Freehold Township School District. Ms. Colonna was also elected Treasurer of the Greater Freehold Area Pop Warner Football League in 2005 and served there for five years. Ms. Colonna graduated from Emmanuel College in 1990 with a BA in Accounting and a Minor in Mathematics. She also received a MA in Education from Georgian Court University in 2007.

Terence Gorman

Managing Director, Employee Benefits Division

Prior to joining World Insurance, Terence worked with large market groups, 5,000+ employees, designing, underwriting and implementing their employee benefits programs. Throughout his career, he has helped multiple organizations and their employees save hundreds of millions of dollars, while improving plan efficiencies and increasing employee satisfaction.

Jennifer D'Agostino

Director of Marketing & Training

Jennifer D'Agostino joined the World Insurance Associates team in March of 2014 as part of an agency acquisition. Since then, her position has grown to incorporate both marketing and training responsibilities throughout the company. In 2010, she earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Ramapo University, with concentrations in management and marketing. Jennifer is passionate about digital and print marketing, and is self-taught in HTML, CSS, InDesign, and Photoshop.
